A Little Bit of Vettriano by VATalbot A Little Bit of Vettriano by VATalbot
An attempt at a painting by Vettriano. Not one of my best, but it was fun trying to draw a bit of it.

Drawn on a Nintendo DSi using the Art Academy program.

This is really impressive! Great to see Art Academy being used to create such wonderful creations.

Thanks!! I always meant to do the others in the original painting. You reminded me that I haven't yet. I should get on that :)

Ya did good! I recognized the style right off.

Thanks. I still mean to go back and do more in this style. It's good practice for me.

I saw some prints of his work at a Target store of all places and fell in love with his style. Can't wait to see more.

And I need to play with my DSi again. I've been neglecting it lately. I got an iPad....

This is so lovely, I like the defined strokes for the sky. Did you work off a reference?

I used the DSi's camera to take a photo of the Vettriano painting off the computer, and worked from that. It wasn't until I finished, and looked at the original that I realised the sky should have been a lot darker and stormier... but oh well. I never thought I could draw people AT all, so it was good practice for me.

I like the blue you chose for the sky :) But it is true it doesn't look like a stormy day.
